This SVI-exclusive kit provides FS-28 lift owners with an easy ability to quickly upgrade their lifts to meet the design/construction criteria of current standards requiring automatically engaging arm restraints on side-by-side lifts utilizing two superstructures that are greater than 51 inches apart. Arm restraints are defined as a mechanism that holds the pivotal position of a superstructure swing arm once the swing arm and vehicle engaging swing arm lifting adapter have been set in position for proper contact of the vehicle manufacturers recommended lifting points prior to formal contact with the vehicle. The arm restraints contained in the SVI BH-9470-90 kit were designed and tested to hold a minimum side load of 150 lbs. each in the plane of the swing arms normal pivoting position with the sleeve and adapter assembly extended to its fullest possible adjusted length. SVI engineering tested the arm restraints’ ability to withstand the minimum 150 lb. side load in both outward and inward pivoting directions. During the test, there was no improper function or any visible or measurable deformation in the material used in the design and construction of this SVI exclusive arm restraint kit.

The kit installs easily in the field in two hours or less and requires the drilling of four (4) 25/64” through holes, two (2) in each opposing superstructure. These arm restraints meet or exceed the ANSI standard and will satisfy OSHA and other Health and Safety officials, as well as those who may engage in routine lift inspections. All the parts in this kit are conveniently available individually so that once installed this arm restraint system can be easily maintained to be kept in 100% proper operating condition. In addition, optional length wear spacer caps for the lock plunger are available to accommodate the proper release of each arm restraint once the lift is lowered regardless of varying slopped concrete surfaces.
