The Advantage Lift Systems Company is best known for its line of high capacity parallelogram surface mount lifts that can be found in transit bus and municipal garages across the country. These lifts were generally manufactured in a plant in Bay Springs, Mississippi and the corporate office was located in San Diego, California.
For a brief period of time Advantage owned the Globe lift company but later sold Globe off to Maxon Industries of California. Advantage was then sold by its founder to another company. This resulted in lift owners asking SVI to step in and fill a necessary gap in repair parts availability.
