The San Antonio based Alamo lift company may be gone but it is not forgotten. How ironic, these lifts were actually produced in a plant in Torreon, Mexico by a company called ASSSA. During a plant tour in the 1990’s you would not have believed all the Bridgeport milling machines they had that were simply left there by the US Government after World War II. The alleged story goes that the plant once made ammunition shell casings that were used during the war effort. Regardless, at some point later in its history the plant was used to produce surface mount auto lifts.
Both 2 and 4 post Alamo style auto lifts can still be found all over the US and in Mexico. These lifts will need new cables, rubber arm pads, power units and lock safety parts as they wear over time.
