Originally known as Gilbert and Barker of Springfield, MA, the company was often referred to as G & B until the name was later changed to Gilbarco. At one time in its long history, Gilbarco was owned by Exxon. Back then, Gilbarco happily supplied all the Exxon stations with gas pumps and auto lifts. This resulted in a huge population of Gilbarco auto lifts in the field across the country and up and down the eastern seaboard.
For over thirty years, SVI has been supplying repair parts and helping owners of Gilbarco auto lifts keep them up and safely operating in their shops. SVI once helped operators of a school bus garage in upstate New York satisfy a DOT inspector’s safety leg requirements by producing an SVI patented safety leg product called an MPTR. Use of the SVI MPTR safety leg was the only way the New York DOT inspector would allow the lift to remain in service. This ultimately saved the taxpayers thousands of dollars for what could been an unnecessary total heavy duty lift replacement.
SVI is always up for the challenge whether it is designing innovative, new safety-related products for the auto lift industry or making old lifts new again with our non-stop repair parts availability.
If you own or use a Gilbarco auto lift, SVI is definitely the company to call.
